July 15 — Stacy Thowe speaks on the new “Up-and-Coming Genre of Christian Fantasy.”
Stacy Thowe has always had a fascination with Guardian Angels. She can describe in detail moments where she felt a Guardian Angel watching over her: circumstances when she felt she should not have made it through, but somehow miraculously did. Hence stemmed her novel, The Guardians: Angels, Demons and Mortals, which came as a surprise, even to her.
"I write primarily from experience. I write what I know, so for me to venture off into fantasy and angels and demons was totally out of character for me, but the words just seemed to flow onto the page as these characters jumped out at me and I was limited onl:y by the borders of my imagination. It was and continues to be a joy to develop these unique characters who have flaws, empathy, compassion, weaknesses, desires, as I wrap them all up in my life long belief of ‘faith.’"
Stacy's second book in the series, The Guardians: At Hell's Gate, took her even deeper into the Underworld Realm. "I tried to make the characters relatable. There are characters you love to hate and characters you hate initially and learn to love. This novel was an even bigger challenge as it took me out of my comfort zone and I started to bring more controversial social issues to the forefront."
Stacy Thowe is a graduate of Washburn University with a degree in English, emphasis in writing. She started writing at a young age predominantly—like most writers, in the secret confines of her diary. Stacy would probably say that the diary she received one Christmas from an aunt became one of her most cherished gifts. There she was able to leave the confines of reality for moments and unveil secrets only the two of them would ever know.
Stacy has had her short stories and poetry published also. Visit her online at stacythowe.com and on facebook. She is currently in the process of writing her third book of "The Guardians Series." She is also editing a Women's Literary novel based on the life experiences of herself and her husband, which she hopes to have published soon. Her current novels, available in eBook and printed copies, are available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords and through her publisher, Synergebooks.com.
