--from Janet Stotts, District 1 President--
The January meeting of the Kansas Authors Club will take place on Saturday, Jan.18th, upstairs in the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. The meet-and-eat portion will begin at 11:30 AM, the business meeting at 12:15 PM and the program at 1:00 PM. The program this month is a Planning Session. We have a lot to discuss. District One (that’s us) is responsible for the 2021 convention of the Kansas Authors Club. We are beginning planning early to make sure we produce a convention as good as the last one held here. It may seem daunting at first, but we have several members with a lot of experience from previous ones, and as Ben Franklin (or my mother?) said, “Many hands make light work.” If we all work together, no one will be over-burdened. So please come and join a committee. We need to plan what we want to do this year. How many Read-Arounds should we have? Should we have a critique session? How can we make our private Facebook page a lively site we can all enjoy? Does anyone know a good and reliable speaker? Everyone’s idea will be heard if I can just find a gavel. Stay warm! --Jan Stotts |
