Don Welborn will speak on “Re-editing my edited edits.”
In his poetry writing, Don edits his poem over and over to ensure it has the best rhyme and meter possible. Come hear about his labors and learn how he knows when each poem is finished.
Don Welborn is a cowboy poet born and raised on a small farm near Meriden, Kansas. He has been writing and reciting poetry since he was four years old. Don was named Kansas Cowboy Poetry Champion in 2012. He performs several shows each year and has even performed for small audiences at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. A graduate in Animal Science at Kansas State University, Don worked in the livestock industry and recently retired from Hill’s Pet Nutrition. He is married to Kris (Kruse) Welborn from Bremen. In addition to poetry and storytelling, Don enjoys hiking and backpacking in remote areas of the west and sharing those sites through his photography.
