Program reports that they are still identifying and considering speakers but already have a list of about 14 potential speakers at this point.
The state poetry contest chairs will find their own judges for the prose and poetry contests and sometime after the first of the year, we will need to integrate planning with the chairs.
There was a discussion about the type of 2021 conference welcome that should be prepared and given at the 2020 KAC Video Conference. Plans have changed somewhat. Jan Stotts will give out the invitation which will be a positive message about overcoming barriers.
New Business: It will soon be time for elections. The Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer have volunteered to remain in their positions, and the club thanked them for their support. Carol Yoho is the chair of the Nominating Committee with Anne Spry as the other member. They will be searching for a new president and volunteers are valued.
The business portion of the meeting ended at 1:43 pm.
The Program followed and was an opportunity for members to participate in reading a piece of slam fiction. Six members read for the group after adjournment.
The next meeting will be the third Saturday of the month as usual, October 17th. We will be discussing what we learned from the October 2 - 4 convention that we can apply to our coming 2021 convention. Check the District 1 page of the KAC State web page for all the news.
