--from Janet Stotts, District 1 President:
Greetings and salutations! We have had a very wet spring, but at least, it has been cool (compared to last year), and next week is supposed to be outstanding. I think our June KAC meeting will be equally great. We will meet June 15 at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library in the Menninger Room. Our lunch and social time begins at 11:30 AM. The meeting begins at 12:15 PM. Our program, with speaker Jamie Lynn Heller, the poet of the ordinary, begins at 1:00 PM, and she will bring some writing exercises with which we can sharpen our pens and brains.
In the business meeting, we will discuss our latest attempt to find a spot to sell our books, and further look into having another “artistic conspiracy.”
The KAC State Board would like to remind you that all the KAC writing contests close June 15, and since you will be busy attending our meeting on that date, you should probably send your efforts in before that date. Good luck to all our talented writers!
