A message from Janet Stotts, District 1 President:
“August – finally!” or is it “August – already?” As the pandemic drags on, it seems to mess with our sense of time. I’m of the “August -finally!” group. How about you?
At any rate it will soon be time for our August meeting. We will meet on Zoom at 1 pm on Sat/. Aug. 15th.
I will mail out the Zoom address on Friday the 14th. I have District 1 members the minutes of the last meeting, so you can see what you might have been missing.
We are making important decisions regarding the 2021 KAC Convention in Topeka, and we could use everyone’s input.
By now, you should have received a new, mid-summer KAC Newsletter that includes information about the 2020 KAC Convention webinar and the registration forms. If you haven’t received it, let me know. (You can also access important information on the KAC Weebly website: https://kansasauthorsclub.weebly.com/2020-convention.html)
We will have more information on how webinars work during the August meeting.
The August program focuses on humor. Members are asked to share their favorite form of literary humor – their own works or favorite poems or pieces from another author. I hope to see puns, epigrams and word play of all types. Humorous flash fictions or parts of stories would be great also. Let’s have some laughs! I think we could all use some. I hope to see you soon.
